Who we are

Mudatex is operated by Mudassir and Brothers Limited ("Mudatex", "we", "us"), a textile and fashion company based in Kano, Nigeria. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use mudatex.com and the Mudatex app for iPhone and Android (together, the "Service").

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other laws that apply to us. Mudassir and Brothers Limited is the data controller for the data described here.

Data we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), and, if you add them, your phone number, date of birth and profile photo.
• Delivery details: the names, phone numbers and addresses you save or enter at checkout.
• Orders and payments: what you buy, order totals, payment status and delivery tracking. Card and bank details are entered on our payment partners' secure pages; we do not see or store your full card number.
• Rewards and wallet: loyalty points, referral codes, gift cards and wallet balance and transactions.
• Your activity in the store: your cart, wishlist, recently viewed items, reviews, and anything you post to the community section.
• Messages: what you write to our support chat and any messages you send us.
• Notification choices: whether you want offers by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
• Technical data: basic device, browser and app information and logs needed to run the Service securely and fix errors.

Some items, such as your cart and app preferences, are stored only on your device.

How we use your data

• To create and manage your account and keep it secure.
• To process, deliver and support your orders, including returns and refunds.
• To take payments and prevent fraud.
• To run rewards, referrals, gift cards and your wallet.
• To answer your questions through the support chat, email or phone.
• To send order updates and, only if you agree, offers and news. You can turn marketing off at any time in your account settings or by contacting us.
• To keep the Service working, improve it and meet our legal and tax obligations.

We rely on our contract with you (to provide what you order), your consent (for marketing), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service:

• Payment processors (Squad by GTCO and FirstChekout by FirstBank) to take payments.
• Delivery and logistics partners to bring your order to you.
• Hosting and database providers (Supabase and Lovable) that store data and run our website and app.
• AI service providers that power the support chat assistant. Please don't share sensitive personal details in the chat.
• Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our customers, staff or the public.

Some of these providers store data outside Nigeria. When that happens we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect your data.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your login and profile. We keep order and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, without linking them to your deleted account.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal data, object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time.

• Update your details any time under Account > Profile and Account > Addresses.
• Delete your account yourself under Account > Security > Delete account.
• For anything else, email help@mudatex.com. We reply within 30 days.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data you can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to it is restricted to staff and providers who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

Children

The Service is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app.
